Privacy Policy
Last updated June 27, 2026.
The Gov Transparency Project is a public-records website. You can browse all of the data without an account, and we collect as little as possible. This page explains the few cases where information is collected and what happens to it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (which pages are visited, general device type, and approximate region). This is aggregate traffic measurement, not advertising, and we do not sell or share it. Google Analytics sets cookies; you can block them with your browser settings or an ad/analytics blocker, and we honor browser "Do Not Track" signals where supported.
Forms you submit
Two optional forms collect only what you type:
- Contact — your name, email (optional, only so we can reply), subject, and message.
- Request a city — a city name, an optional note, and an optional email for updates.
These submissions are delivered privately to the operator (by email through Resend, or as a push notification) and used only to respond to you or to plan new city coverage. They are not published, sold, or used for marketing.
Sponsorship payments
If you sponsor a city, payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details directly; we never see or store them. We receive only the confirmation and the sponsorship metadata (such as the city sponsored and a contact email).
Links to other sites
Every figure links to its source document, and the site links out to city and state government websites. Those third-party sites (including .gov pages, agenda systems, and the Utah Public Finance Website) have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.
Data retention and your choices
Form submissions are kept only as long as needed to respond or to track a city request. To ask what we hold about you or to request deletion, use the contact form on the home page.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it.
